Since New Horizons is obviously massively popular right now and generating a lot of fanart on twitter and tumblr and elsewhere, it would be good to decide what kinds of fanworks we want to showcase and document as "exemplary" (as in, listed in the Examples section). I don't think cataloguing every sketch that's posted anywhere is the best way forward, given the nature of the franchise. I'd rather stick to overarching trends and broad genres with 2-3 examples of each, rather than turn the page into a link repository. --Mokuroh (talk) 21:57, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- I absolutely agree. I've also recently shared concerns about the "AnnotatedFanworks" template at Talk:Magic AU. The example section should serve a purpose--whether to say a given fanwork is typical of a trend in the fandom, or to show the range of types of fanworks created, or to document works that are unique or interesting in some other way. Fanlore isn't a reclist or a masterlist of every fanwork ever created, it's a resource for fans to learn more about the fandom. --sparc 22:33, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- Since most of the art examples were Timmy/Tommy, I moved them to Timmy & Tommy Nook and tried to place them in context alongside other works and description. I also removed the AnnotatedFanwork template as it didn't seem suitable. Further input is always welcome & appreciated! The examples on this page still need work - I would love to see a diverse but representative selection of Animal Crossing artwork showcased. --sparc 20:06, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
