Talk:A Question of Balance
I have a question about the name consistency. I have created zine pages for other novels by this author under the full name, because I thought it was rather widely used/well known for a zine author name even online and it also already appeared on other, older pages in this wiki, like on the zine pirating controversy page as such. Besides I thought I read somewhere that this was a fan writing pseud in the first place not a RL name -- I think that was some quote from some book or other talking about slash but I'm not sure, I don't really know anything about this author besides that her K/S stuff is mentioned fairly often still. But then I found this article under a shortened name, so now I just don't know. Either way, if I should have used a shortened name a bunch of zine pages I just created need to be moved, also the Zine Pirating/An Open Letter to Fandom Regarding Zine Pirating - Alexis Fegan Black needs editing in that case. If the longer version is okay this page should be moved to a full name also so that the naming is consistent.--Ratcreature 13:13, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Full name is fine for Alexis - I wrote to her about a different page in the wiki and was told it was fine to use either or both of her names, so we're good. I'll move the page; thanks for the catch! --Arduinna 13:43, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
names again
okay, the phrasing right now on this page is ridiculous. I mean the name appears on the cover on that edition (notably not for example on the one currently sold through this website) because afaik it's the author just not under the AFB slash pseud. Either we make the connection between that name and the pseud or we don't (if I interpret Arduinna above correctly it might be okay? but generally I had the impression that the slash pseud was kept separate, so maybe we should stick with the AFB pseud for the slash and upload the updated version of the cover like it is on the website that still sells this), but right now this reads weird.--RatCreature 12:31, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- If she is okay with using either or both of her names, I don't see why we shouldn't make the connection. We could point out that usually she used the AFB pseud for her slash but that this zine was originally published with her other name. You are right, the phrasing right now reads very strange. (It was written by X but name Y is on the cover! What could that possibly mean?! The mystery!!!) --Doro 14:03, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
