I just want to say that this article is really well written and has given me a lot to think about how fandom works, about IP rights and what fanworks mean to creators. While I knew of fans and fannish activity existing for ages before my birth, I used to think problems of theft were minimal to non-existent due to the lack of internet. I'm glad I know more now.
