He was Misty Lackey's eyes and ears on USEnet.

Regarding Handle

Folks ask me why I post as Tal Greywolf, and there's a perfectly good reason. I've never liked my RL mundane name all that much, so for the last, oh, 15 years or so I've used Tal as a name. Short for Taliesin, the bard/mage/shape shifter of old Celtic legend. The Greywolf was added to reflect both my love of wolves, nature and the shamanistic aspects I take from time to time. As Misty has said in the past, 'Tal fits you better anyways.' [1]

Misty's Watchwolf

[fan comment, 1997]

[Lackey] doesn't have direct internet access. Several people who know her in RL do lurk, and occasionally post, here. She does know about the group, and occasionally passes a message through one of her friends. Probably the most long-term poster here in that category is Tal Greywolf. Back when, we used to call him Misty's Watchwolf. [2]

[Tal Greywolf responded]:

Arf. I'm still around, lurking under cover. You think a wolf if going to show himself all the time? *wink* Not quite. I do have a life that on occasion requires my attention. *gryn* But yes, I'm around, and yes, do I act as Misty's eyes and ears as needed. But only as needed. Mind you, I don't do running to her with every little question. Only really serious problems will I take to her. Although I have been tempted in doing a once a quarter take questions from the audience and have her answer them idea... but only if she agrees to it.

Anyways, back under cover for me... [3]
