Reactions and Reviews

1994

Continuation, or rather addition, to "Double, Double" by Kelly in FT37. In the first story, Spock gets split into a male and female. T'Impara, which means "unexpected" (great name) in Vulcanese, tells the story from her perspective.

Just as I began reading, I inwardly sighed because right from the start there were so many fabulous ideas, wonderful lines and a great premise and I knew it was going to end after only a few pages. I'm disappointed, but at least it's getting there.

But, anyway, this is so neat. Here we have a scene where the male Spock and female Spock and Kirk all have sex together in order to reunite. Damn, it's sexy, but I'm sorry, I was so frustrated with lines like: "Jim's mouth brings me, writhing, to climax, while Spock's hands roam both bodies." How? Where? I want details!

So much good stuff like that T'Impara was created "to love Jim Kirk." from Spock's thoughts of his love. What a super idea, what a too short story.[1]
