Summary

Lena Luthor doesn't plan to have any kids. Or to get married, even, really. After the revelation that she is actually of Luthor blood after all, she's quite set on ending the family line with her and not taking the risk of any more drama.

Then Lorelai L. Danvers crashes into her life, claiming to be her seventeen year old daughter from the future.

Reactions and Reviews

if u haven’t read this are u even a supercorp fan?[1]

GUYS IF YOU ARE NOT READING THIS YOU SHOULD BE BECAUSE THIS IS A FUCKING GREAT PEACE OF LITERATURE. IT UPDATED TONIGHT AND YOU SHOULD BE THANKFUL.This is literally my favorite thing to read and I thank the GODS when it updates.[2]

kidfic is Not My Thing and yet??? amazing characterization here[3]

I’m gonna reread Supergirl in Training written by @wtfoctagon tonight because it’s perfect and I love it <3[4]

This is by far the most popular Supercorp fic on AO3 (7400 kudos at the time of writing) and I can understand why. There is some angst, some humor and a bit of action.

The story is very well written and brings Lori’s character to live. Seeing and listening to Lena’s point of view is nearly heartbreaking and written so well. Alex and Maggie play small, supporting but memorable roles.

This is a wonderful travel and kid-fic AU. I especially loved the first third of the story that was so heartbreaking, it made me cry several times.[5]

9.9/10 only because I felt like I still needed more at the end. BUT REQUIRED READ FOR SUPERCORP FANDOM!!![6]

THIS IS MY FAVORITE FIC of all the fics.... This is super beautifully written. It’s got fluff and it’s got angst. The entire time you are rooting for everybody. I don’t much want Lorelai to go back to the future, but I know she has to. IF YOU ARE NOT READING THIS, YOU SHOULD BE!!!![7]

I honestly, honestly did not know I would tear up with this. The story was all amazing on its own but whew. the end note hit home as well. Read it. It’s an amazing story.[8]

Supergirl in Training is probably the only fic that has got me to like a character i’ve never encountered so rapidly. catch me crying over lori danvers yall[9]

Supercorp has a teenage daughter. I’ve never really liked kid fic but boy do I need Lori Danvers in my life. This whole fandom does. *cries because it’s over*[10]

Really enjoyed this SGFF (SuperCorp) with a very small dash of Savners (Maggie/Alex). A really unique story line featuring Lori who is Lena and Kara's daughter from the future. The entire thing was worth it for her Afterward at the end talking about healthy queer rep on TV and the fact that there's so little of it. I could *not* agree more[11]

this is my third time around on this fic, and it hasn’t lost its magic yet. sure, i’m a sucker for grown kids coming back in time to their still-quite-young parents and all the shenanigans that take place henceforth, but it’s more than that. it checks pretty much every box in what i look for in a story. it’s raw, it’s real, it’s fun, it’s indulgent, it’s soft and sweet, it’s intelligent; it makes you feel something, and it makes you think. and the author’s addendum at the end discussing the importance of fanworks is just the icing on the cake. it’s a beautiful work of art, and i’ll always be thankful i got to experience it.[11]

A fandom classic. Its a character-study in a way, but first and foremost a homage to the fandom and fanfiction in general. If you read anything of this fic let it be the love letter to fanfiction she wrote at the end, because it changed the way I consume fanfiction and made me appreciate it even more. She also edited it to a book-formate! A must read.[12]

This is a fantastic, sweet, and really well written story. If you like the whole ‘future kid returns to the past’ trope then this is the story for you![13]
