StaYC, or 스테이씨 (meaning Star to a Young Culture), is a 6 member Kpop girl group under High Up Entertainment.
History

They debuted in 2020 with the single album "Star to a Young Culture" and the title track "So Bad". Following their debut, fans of the group StrayKids worried that STAYCs fandom name would be Stays (the fandom name for straykids).
April 1, 2021 they were featured in a documentary "Kpop evolution"
April 8, 2021 they released a single album titled "Staydom" with the title track "ASAP"
September 6, 2021 they released their first extended play titled "Stereotype" with the title track of the same name.
February 21, 2022 they released a extended play titled "Young-Luv.com" with the title track "Run2U"
July 19, 2022 they released a single album titled "We Need Love" with the title track "Beautiful Monster". This is often considered the 'downfall of STAYC due to the change from a more girlcrush concept to a more cute concept.
November 23, 2022 they released the Japanese single "Poppy" marking their Japanese debut.
February 14, 2023 they released a single album titled "Teddy Bear" with the title track of the same name.
July 27, 2023 they embarked on a world tour, traveling to the United States of America, China, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Poland.
August 6, 2023 they released a extended play titled "Teenfresh" with the title track "Bubble"
March 15, 2024 they released a cover of Twices song "Fancy". The cover was hated by onces (Twice fans) because of the more softer tone of the song compared to the more loud original.
July 1, 2024 they released their first full album titled "Metamorphic" with the title track "Cheeky Icy Thang"
October 30, 2024 they released a single album titled "...I" with the title track "GPT". STAYC is considered by some SWITHs and non fans to be in their flop era due to them not topping charts compared to their rookie era.

Fandom
STAYC fans are called swiths (Stay with STAYC and is pronounced "sweet" as swith is similar to the Korean word for sweet). The fandom name came after a contest held by HighUp entertainment in which fans submitted their ideas for STAYCs fandom name.
Popular ships are Simin (Sumin and Sieun), Suchae (Sumin and Isa) and 2yoon (Yoon and Seeun).
