Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is the sequel to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Although the first game done by BioWare, the developers were too busy with Jade Empire and Dragon Age: Origins and suggested that Obsidian Entertainment take over. Due to LucasArts interference, the game was released unfinished; fans later released mods to add more content to the game.

The Setting

Set a few years after the conclusion of the first game, KotOR2 focuses on the story of a Jedi in exile. After being banished to the outer parts of the galaxy and his/her Force abilities stripped by the Jedi Council for aiding Revan (the main character of the first game), the Exile awakens from unconsciousness in a station in Republic territory. With the help of a group of non-playable companions, the Exile searches for the remains of the Jedi Order, all the while being hunted by the Sith.

The Fandom

The KotOR2 fandom appears to be primarily spread across the following spaces:

BioWare Social Network

The BioWare Social Network, or the BSN, is BioWare's official forums, containing subforums for each individual game, as well as areas for fans to discuss specific aspects such as in-game romances, character development, and general universe lore.

Modding

Modding is a popular fan activity in KotOR2. The greatest endeavor was probably the TSL Restored Content Mod, which was created by two fans, credited as HighPriest and Aurora.[1] This massive mod attempted to fill in the holes left when the game was released prematurely. In the PC version of the game, Obsidian Entertainment gave fans access to many unused files, including scripts and recorded dialog.

In addition to this mod, there are many other smaller projects that allow the user to customized the game, such as adding more items and skins.
