Excerpts from the introduction:
WELCOME! We are pleased the bring you another edition of the STAR CON NEWS. With all of the activities that we are involved with, getting this issue to press has been a bit of a chore. Of course, the Gremlins we had living in the office didn't help us much either. Our organization has been growing and expanding over the last nine years and with your continued help and interest, we hope to continue to keep you informed.
We are pleased to announce that STAR CON now has its' own Computer Bulletin Board. It runs 24 hours a day and if you have a computer and a modem all you have to do is call 935-5850. Currently the Board offers movie reviews, updated information on Star Con and other conventions, interviews, a joke line and much more. We are continually adding bits and pieces of information to the board and welcome your comments.
Rumor has it that Paramount is currently talking with Eddie Murphy... I guess none of the executives heard about what Richard Pryor did for SUPERMAN III.
We would like to thank several people without whose help this issue wouldn't be possible. First, Dan Madsen, President of the Official Star Trek Fan Club, he really puts together a classy magazine and we appreciate him allowing us to use excerpts from it for the STAR CON NEWS. Also, Teri Meyer from INTERSTAT. She has been publishing INTERSTAT for over seven years and it still provides the best format for fans to express their feelings and opinions.
