Souls of Discretion is a Blake/Avon Blake's 7 story by Calico, the prequel to Calico's Avon/Tarrant story Snatch.
It was posted on the author's fanfiction website Calico's Lair.
Summary
Avon objects to Blake's PR system. Prequel to Snatch. (author's summary from Calico's Lair)
The belated prequel to Snatch, set four years previously.
This is Blake's 7, people. Meaning subtext. And this is slash. Meaning subtext exploded.
A lot of people helped with this, but it's been a long time in the running so I'm gonna have to fall back on the old you-know-who-you-are song. (author's summary from Liberated)
Reactions and Reviews
(On the subject of B/A Flight Deck hanky-panky, see also Calico’s “Souls of Discretion,” http://www.liberated.org.uk/1059souls.htm which has some nice crew dynamics as well as a deliciously toppy Blake.) [1]
One of those stories where you're not sure whether you want them to break the agonising sexual tension or whether you want the charged sniping to go on forever, because it's so well done. Blake is wonderfully and sexily powerful/confident.[2]
Calico wrote the exceptionally divine 'Souls of Discretion'. So I am always on the look out for other Calico fics, none of which have quite measured up. But... if Hermit is right and 'Forbidden Zone' 2 was published in 1985, then 'Souls of Discretion' was written a mighty sixteen years after 'Between the Pages of a Look'. No wonder SoD is better.[3]
