Reactions and Reviews
1997
First is a "resume" of Part I [Soul in Despair], and I looked ahead and saw that Part II was also "to be continued," and I got impatient with the lack of focus and cohesion, besides very bad run-on sentences. It's about Kirk having been a prisoner and raped. But I thought from the resume of Part I that all of that had been resolved. Now it seems Spock must restore in Kirk's mind his attempted suicide, so he can get over it.
I felt the drama was forced (by lots of exclamation points).
Meanwhile, a McCoy/Vulcan-male story that reduces McCoy to a blubbering groan and then he never sees the guy again. Then a lot of crises on the ship; and the story just stops in mid-scene.[1]
