It is very common to see fanfics that take place during his time on High School in the beginning of the Buu arc, often exploring his relationship with Videl and having him trying to hide his identity. One specific trope that can be found on these are stories where his class has some kind of school trip to places like Capsule Corp and learn the truth about the Cell Games.
Another common trope is to explore Gohan's feelings after having to fight so many strong foes in his childhood, sometimes exploring things like PTSD or having an argument with Goku about his father making him fight in the Cell Games and/or asking to not be ressurected, as those are controversial with fans and many like to see how Gohan would deal with that.
Shipping
The most popular pairing for Gohan is the canonical Hanvi, that pairs with up with Videl. Others that can be seen often in fanworks pair him with Future Trunks or Piccolo, though both of these are rather controversial thanks to the big age diferences between the characters. Another ship that's a lot rarer but still seen sometimes pairs him with Erasa.
