Reviews

Example reviews from the fic's comment section [1] at AO3:

This was a loving, affectionate, carefully explored joy to read. It felt authentic, honest, and devoted to reflecting the characters truly while still going in new directions. The PTSD references felt appropriate and were beautifully portrayed. I loved your descriptive style and use of language. The conversations fit within its time period. When sex gets mixed into a period story, I often find it jarring as I imagine that even while intimate, men from Victorian times would still be circumspect. You conveyed that beautifully. I loved the twists with what happens to the Irregulars afterward, and was surprised at how fond I grew for your OCs. You made the Holmes country estate and the people who inhabited it as real as Baker Street, and just as beloved. All in all, this was an absolute joy to read, and I'm grateful you took the time to share this lovely story! Thank you! [2]

What a wonderful, warm, loving story! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Many of the other stories for this Holmes/Watson focus more on the difficulties of a gay relationship in that era, and though you did address that I really liked reading a story that is more about the deep love they feel for each other and on other people accepting it, even be happy for them. The PTSD is so logical really, amazing that I haven't seen any other stories dealing with this. I love the street kids, and mrs Everman is great. It is a nice idea to think that the Holmes brothers would have had someone like that in their life. This fic goes into my list of favourites! :-) [3]

Absolutely wonderful. Healing, romantic, and fantastically written, tysm!!!! [4]
