Slytherin Skittles is the 2020s Marauders fandom nickname for the fanon friend group of variations of Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch, Jr., Dorcas Meadowes, Pandora Lovegood, and Regulus Black. The characters are typically headcanoned as queer, hence "Skittles" for the rainbow, and often sorted into Slytherin house by fans.
Criticism and Concerns
I’d love to know people’s thoughts on them too. Maybe it’s because I’m an oldie, but my first thought is to find (especially terms like “Slytherin Skittles”) kind of… cringe (don’t hate me!). And like the Slyrherin guys especially grow up to be dark wizards.
This is tiktok stuff that's slowly flowing over to tumblr and other spaces now. Personally, I've started using slytherin skittles as a way to weed out whose headcanons I find worth engaging with bc honestly 90% of the time they've very similar and not my type whatsoever. It feels like a whole lot of "actually these death eaters were soft uwu bois with golden hearts whose mean daddies made them do every horrible thing they ever did" and that's just something that bores me a lot. It's not interesting, it's just repetitive. I'm of the opinion that if you're gonna write death eater characters, actually own up to how awful the people you're writing are.
