Slash Cotillion was an archive for historical slash fiction, both fan fiction and original. It had an official cut-off point for historical fiction for archiving purposes, but that cut-off point varied from 1955[1] to 1958[2] to 1959.[3] However, stories set in later times could be posted and fantasy stories with historical setting could be archived as well.
When the site went offline in 2008, it contained more than 900 stories. The archive also accepted Real People Slash stories about historical figures, provided the story was set before 1955, including RPS AUs with people who weren't born then, like for example "a story in which Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are midshipmen in the navy during the French Revolution".[1]
Sadly, very little of the site was stored on the Internet Archive. However a few links remain dating from 2003 (see index below) along with fiction posted to the Slash Cotillion's Livejournal community historic_slash.
