What was the first X-files/Skinner story that you wrote and what inspired it?
The first was Fireworks. I wrote the first section of it over the 4th of July weekend for a Skinner mail list that I was on. It was just supposed to be a little excercise - nothing special, but people kept asking me for more....
Do you write for other fandoms? Which ones?
Yes - I'm currently writing an ER piece with Luka as the main character.
What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
Just go with your gut as far as plot. I mean, make it as authentic as you possibly can (unless you're going for something totally different) but don't let fear of making a mistake keep you from trying. Heck, even now when I read my own stuff I see so many flaws that I'd like to go back and give it a complete re-write (I actually DID that once...), but I learned and (hopefully) the stories got better as I went along. Just KEEP TRYING! No matter what anyone says to you, don't let you personal voice be silenced. Fanfic is a wonderful creative medium - it gives us a chance to dream and you shouldn't allow anybody to step on your dream. (Okay I'll get off my soapbox now...)
What is your favorite X-Files episode and why?
Squeeze, its both creepy and slimy and I LOVE Skinner in it - he was sooooooo HOT.
