Some Excerpts
When did you start writing fanfiction?
My first forays into "real" fanfiction were in 1997, when I wrote a series of absolutely god awful X-Files songfics. Prior to that, I had written a great many stories using my favorite characters from books and TV shows without knowing that there was such a thing as fanfic. I left the X-Files fandom in around 1999, and barely read any fanfic until I gravitated towards HP fic this past fall.
Would you agree that fanfiction is a genre dominated by women, and if so, why do you think it's so?
Absolutely. I'd guess that the female to male ratio in all the fandoms I've been in has been somewhere around 75:1. My guess as to why this is the case is that fanfic is predominantly romance centered, and romance is read and written by women the vast majority of the time.
This is a site devoted to antagonists. Could you reveal us your favourite Mr. Bad Guy?
5 years later, and I'm still about Krycek on The X-Files.
