Silena Beauregard was a character in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
Canon
Overview
Silena Beauregard was the daughter of Aphrodite. Her first appearance was in the second book of the series, “The Sea of Monsters,” where she was briefly described by Percy Jackson, the narrator, as “one of the nicer Aphrodite girls. Silena also makes an appearance in a companion book to PJ&TO, alluding to her future relationship with Charles Beckendorf, son of Hephaestus. It is revealed in the final book of the series, “The Last Olympian,” that Silena was a spy for the Titans throughout the series, but had to be blackmailed to continue her spying after she started dating Beckendorf. Stricken with guilt and grief over Beckendorf’s death, Silena, in her final act of heroism, was killed by the Lydian Drakon when she tried to kill it. Her death was avenged by her best friend, Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares, when Clarisse defeated the Drakon; Clarisse never referred to Silena as a spy, only as a hero.
Relationships
Charles (Charlie) Beckendorf:
- At the end of the companion story, The Bronze Dragon, Charles Beckendorf asks Silena to go watch the fireworks, presumably the start of their relationship. The couple is reunited in Elysium after they both die in the mortal world. Silena was the only character to call Beckendorf “Charlie.”
Clarisse La Rue:
- Best friend of Silena, despite their stark differences. Their relationship may be a shadowing of the affair that Aphrodite and Ares have together in Greek Mythology.
