v.6 n.1
Short Treks v.6 n.1 was published in January 1985 and contains 8 pages.
The editor was Judy Zoltai, the guest editor was Mark Murry.
There is much about people in club positions coming and going, and the current round up is Pres: Richard McKay, Vice Pres: Katherine Kopynsky, Tres: Rob Downie, Sec: Jocely Wirth, Yeoman Over 18: Blake Smith, Yeoman Under 18: Monique Dauphinais.
From The Forum:
[Our] situation then leaves us two alternatives, we either change the club name to reflect what we have become, or we change the club to reflect our name. If we don neither, then we continue to live a lie. Let us not be swayed by sentimentality, but rather by practical considerations. No want wants to deny what the club was (putting "formally Star Trek Winnipeg" under the name would get my unqualified support), but I do feel that our present name is a denial of what we are now, and misrepresents us to the public.

Apparently it would cost many thousands of dollars just to read them for one day. That's "One day." Anyway, to put it quite simply, we don't have that type of cash.")
- Meeting Minutes (There was an astronomy lecture by a University of Manitoba professor, exhibits, the Intergalactic Dating Game, a raffle, and "Scott Anderson gave a very fine synthesizer/electronic music performance to end off our Open House." Also a reminder that the Fifth Anniversary Dinner would be a Chi-Chis, and crew members must be in uniform or native dress.)

About the comic slide show at the last club meeting:
Russ and Greg entertained the masses with... what they called, a Slide Comic Show. Through the use of slides of models and little dolls, Russ and Greg put on a small Slide Movie, complete with soundtrack. The effort was appreciated by all. After the show, Russ explained to the members that this was a dry run for a proposed slide movie, using club members in costumes, as the actors. The scheduled completion date for this project is to be KeyCon 86.
- From the Bridge by Judy Zoltai (includes a report from the "Slave Auction" - it made $190 for the club. Also the Intergalactic Dating Game planned for Keycon has enough "ladies" but needs more male contestants, Bill's Video has the Star Trek Bloopers for sale (!), a planned pool party, and a report on a comic slide show, and then a trip to the A&W.)
