Sherlock Holmes/Joan Watson, also known as Joanlock, is the het pairing of Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson in Elementary fandom. It is the predominant pairing within the fandom, and considered by many fans to be the fandom OTP.

Canon

At the beginning of the series Joan is hired by Sherlock's father to be Sherlock's sober companion, because Sherlock is a recovering addict. She accompanies him on his cases, and after her time as his companion is finished she asks him to teach her the art of detection. Over time Joan becomes a detective in her own right, and they become partners.
