She-Ra: Princess Of Power was a 1980s cartoon show by Filmation. Created as a spin-off to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra was aimed primarily at a young female audience to counterbalance He-Man's popularity with young males.
Fandom
Despite She-Ra being aimed at female audiences, the series was very popular with males who had watched He-Man as it retained an action-oriented plot.
ND Stevenson, the showrunner of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, noted how archive focused the classic fandom was:
“I got very into fan sites and the online community for Masters of the Universe. It’s pretty small but very, very devoted. [...] (The fans) do such a great job of just archiving everything," she says. "Here’s this character. Here’s what the toy was like. Here’s what she was like in the original illustrated books. Here’s what she’s like in the comics.”[1]
Shipping
The most popular ship was Adora/Sea Hawk which was also canonical.
