He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was a popular 1980s cartoon show based on a Mattel toy line, Masters of the Universe.
A sequel to the series, The New Adventures of He-Man, was lunched in the early 1990s but was short-lived. In 2002 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was rebooted under the same name. He-Man also lead to the spin-off series She-Ra: Princess Of Power, which was aimed primarily at a young female audience.
