Sharing Clothes is a trope often used to imply a romantic element of a relationship, however it is also used in familial and friendly relationships, or at times when a character is being taken care of/rescued from something. It is different than a piece of clothing that was given as a gift. The owner of the article of clothing intends to get it back.
