Sha Ka Ree is a Kirk/Spock story by ThereBeWhalesHere.
Summary: The year is 2258. Jim Kirk is a Lieutenant on the U.S.S. Farragut, Spock the science officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise. When the ships come together for a priority landing party, these two strangers find themselves fighting against the odds for a chance at life in an alien world, and the only way they'll make it through is by relying on each other.

The main fic is the first one, taking place in a joint mission involving Captain Pike & science officer Spock of the Enterprise, and Lt. Kirk plus some redshirts from the USS Farragut. It's semi-AU since Pike dies on the mission, as do the redshirts, leaving Kirk and Spock stranded on a strange planet and a couple million years in the past. Over the course of the next two years, they establish a relationship and also find a way back home. Lots of angst, plus some nice mystery and worldbuilding.[2]
Puts the “slow” in slow burn, but it’s worth it. I’m really into the way their relationship dynamic is affected when Spock is the superior officer.[3]
So starting with @therebewhaleshere , who seriously disrupted nearly a week of my days and nights with Sha Ka Ree when I read it through three times and kept waking up thinking about it and got honked at when the traffic light went green and I just sat there wrapped up in a fog daydreaming about the boys swimming at the caldera – thank you THANK YOU for sharing your literary talent with all of us.[4]
