Sensawunda is a shortening of "sense of wonder" that is used sometimes ironically by cynical old science fiction fans to describe how less jaded fans feel reading science fiction. The term "sense of wonder" is commonly used to characterize an important element of the genre. See The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction.

Issue 24 is definitely much better looking than the earlier copies of FLEET I had seen—what, two years ago? The contents level has not changed—still very goshwow, but hell, sensawunda is good for you. [1]
