Scarlet Women was an invite-only Harry Potter LiveJournal community for "the highest quality femslash art and fiction".
The community went on hiatus in October 2007 "pending a change in maintainership and a clarification of policies by LiveJournal". Although some fanworks posting continued after the announcement of the hiatus, mod posts such as community challenges ceased.
As of August 2011, the community had 36 members and was watched by 187 journals.[1]

Why only femslash?
We would like to ensure that femslash writers garner the attention and appreciation they deserve -- oftentimes they are looked over in the overabundance of male slash. Het and male slash are welcome as side pairings in fics and/or art primarily femslash in nature.
