Sons and Daughters of the Force is a gen Star Wars newsletter with at least forty-seven issues. They average 50 pages each.

In November 1981, there was a notice in Jundland Wastes #5/6 that this zine was "organizing a letter-writing campaign to insure that Luke Skywalker will be the one to walk away in Revenge of the Jedi."

If you are a Star War Saga fan... you'll want to join our family. Our newsletters are written by fans for fans. We feature articles, short stories, con reports, pen poetry, and much more. Whoever your favorite Star War character may be, you'll enjoy our newsletter, as we feature them all. We are mainly dedicated to the first three films, but we'll keep all fans up to date on future Star War Saga films. So, don't miss out, join us, and the force will be with you -- always! We also look forward to the poetry and short stories (PG-rated please), etc.

When the The Fanzine Archives: A Library for the Preservation & Circulation of Fan-created Material, then called "The SW Fanzine Lending Library," was first formed in 1987, it was one of only three zines that specifically asked to not be included.

Sons and Daughters of the Force 1 was published in April 1980.

Issue 27

Sons and Daughters of the Force 27 was published in October 1986.

Issue 28

Sons and Daughters of the Force 28 was published in February 1987.

Sons and Daughters of the Force 32 was published in February 1988.

Issue 33

Sons and Daughters of the Force 33 was published in May 1988.

Issue 36

Sons and Daughters of the Force 36 was published in March 1989.

Issue 41

Sons and Daughters of the Force 41 was published in November 1990 and contains 49 pages. It was their 10th anniversary issue. This issue contains many essays and testimonials by fans about being a Star Wars fan.

Dear Members - HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY! What can you say to top that? Except to say, thanks for making it possible. I'm not going to say the old cliche, "It doesn't seem like ten years," because it does. I mean that in a good sense. Ten years is.a long time and a lot has happened. It isn't easy putting out a newsletter, but it is great enjoyment. It has to be worth it thou, in order to withstand the hard work. But believe me, STAR WARS was and still is worth it. And yes, SW is alive and well. We wouldn't be celebrating this anniversary if it wasn't. When you read the wonderful stories, poems, articles, etc, in this zine, you'll know more than ever it is still alive. So, thank you, George Lucas, for making this anniversary possible. Thank you to all the fine actors and actresses v^o brought life to their characters. It's funny when you think, Debbie & I started with a few members, just to see what would happen. We both wanted more than just seeing the films of SW. We wanted to be a part of it. Keep it more alive, so to speak, after we saw SW over and over again in our theatres. Going to see the film and then coming home to. work on the SW N/L was, in a sense, being part of it like I said. Now, here we are, ten years later. Ten years very well spent. - Over the years we've had different staff members who ran columns, passed the good word about S&D, helped with typing, did artwork for us, etc.

We would like to thank all of them for their talents and efforts.

Dear Members - Firstly, let me say - CONGRATULATIONS! - Without the help and support of each and every one of you who are with us now and have been with us in the past, SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE FORCE would not . now be celebrating its Tenth Anniversary. I've given a lot of thought as to what I would say, and decided to review our past issues to see just how far we've come!

In our first anniversary issue, I predicted that this club, unlike so many others that do not make it past their first birthday, would go on for many years. With this issue, I've been proven right.

In a previous issue I had stated that the club was a second family to me, and it is even more so now. Like all families we have had our ups and downs, financially and otherwise, but the one thing that brought us together in the first place is still there - Love of Star Wars and the ideals represented therein. In the beginning, we asked what Star Wars had meant to you, on a personal level, and for most it was a sense of hope and peace and a belief in something good. Personally, it has helped me through sane very rough times in my life, as it has some of you. It's made me laugh and cry and simply enjoy being alive. And I think maybe that that is the best thing that anyone could say about something.

There's so much more I want to say, but we are limited by space here, so let me just add - Here's to Star Wars and to each and every one of you.
