Ryan/Esposito is a major slash pairing in the Castle fandom. Canonically a enormous bromance, their professional and personal relationship has its own smushname ship – Rysposito –, which is also used as a pairing name.

Ryan and Esposito are professional partners and close friends to a point where Kevin wanted to name his possible baby "Javier" when they both thought they weren't going to make it alive out of a burning building.[citation needed]
