Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, also known as simply Rudolph, is a character associated with Christmas folklore, first appearing in 1939. He's one of Santa's reindeer, usually depicted as the ninth after the eight previously established in the tale Twas the Night Before Christmas.
