Reactions and Reviews
1990
Another story in which Kirk takes a bet and in turn gets himself into trouble with it. But this one has a strange twist. Spock is the surprise. He knows Kirk's feelings better than he himself does. All Spock does is sit back until Kirk realizes just what he does feel and then he lets it be known that he feels the same. Of course, I like the idea of Kirk doing all the reports of Scotty's and McCoy's just like he'd lost the bet, then Spock getting tired of all the time Kirk has been spending with the reports and not with him. Very interesting the way Ms. Wells gets Kirk out of doing those reports. All in all a good story. [1]
2003
This is cute and fun, a titillating romp. About a dare to make Spock fall for him that Kirk gets gulled into by McCoy and Scotty: they bet him that he can't get Spock into bed and make love to him within 18 days. Kirk never would have done it unless he'd been inebriated. Still, he follows through and on the crucial night, an attack of conscience causes Kirk to confess to Spock. But Spock, uninterested in soul-baring, ignores the regrets and gets his licks in first; for he has Kirk right where the Human had wanted him. Spock proceeds to teach Kirk a lesson, a loving tender one. A nice long luscious love scene where Spock steals the march on his t'hy'la, proving once and for all eternity that they are soulmates. Delicious! [2]
