Rick Riordan is known mainly for writing the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series of children's books based on Greek Mythology, which garnered massive success. PJO was followed by the Kane Chronicles, based on Egyptian Mythology and other novels based on mythology. Heroes of Olympus was a sequel series to PJO and The Trials of Apollo was his third Greek mythology series. His works have grown into something of a shared universe of different mythological pantheons in the modern world.
