rillrill is a fanfiction writer in a number of fandoms.

Around 2016, rillrill was involved in Hamilton fandom wank about kink and racism. Fans criticizing her popular fic, Quid Pro Quo, may have been what started the larger wank.

In early 2018 or earlier, rillrill became controversial after she met a man who she had written sexually explicit RPF fanfic about and began dating him. This was widely considered the most extreme breach of the Fourth Wall possible. rillrill received widespread criticism for breaching boundaries and misleading her partner. She continued to talk about her personal and sexual relationship online, including her fantasies about her partner and other person(s) she had written RPF about. This apparently all occurred without her partner's awareness. After a time, rillrill stopped participating in the fandom (after the fandom had largely shunned her) and deleted all her fanfics in the fandom concerning him. She deleted all her fandom accounts besides AO3, later remaking under different pseuds. While this drama unfolded it largely remained within the RPF fandom it concerned, though widely known, but later spread through word of mouth and was more widely discussed on the lol_meme Dreamwidth.

rillrill previously connected her fan identity with her real life identity. In 2020 she was doxxed on tumblr and fail_fandomanon.
