Reforging Ties is a 42-page slash novel in both English and Japanese. It was originally written in English by Brenda and posted online. It was then translated by Riko and published with doujinshi-like illustrations (although the bulk of the zine is English and Japanese text side by side). Contains two sketches of Legolas and Aragorn by famed Japanese mangaka (and Yaoi-Con 2002 Guest of Honor) Nitta Youka. Front cover by Angel and back cover by Bolan.
The zine premiered at the 2002 Tokyo Winter Comiket. The pairing is: Uruk-Hai/Legolas, Aragorn/Legolas and contains rapefic.
Author's summary: Uruk-hai fight over Legolas. Aragorn and Gimli settle the question. From one review: This story asks the same question not a few other fanfics did: What if Legolas had been captured by the orcs at Parth Galen in addition to, or instead of, Merry and Pippin? Gripping stuff, especially in slashy hands, where rape and assault are sure to follow. Indeed it did. Lots of it... lots, described in various loving ways the Tolkienesque prose was ill-equipped to handle. Read more here.
