Some Excerpts

My first introduction into fanfic was a handful of years ago. I was looking for more information on Russell Crowe, and stumbled onto fic of his characters. I was enthralled, and wrote a little myself, (character of Terry from Proof of Life) While I was researching Russell I stumbled into some erotic Snape fic and was utterly horrified! LOL I might have been interested in HP fic if the kids weren't still young at the time (characters and actors) I just hadn't seen them grown up in my head yet.

I've only just started writing. Matter of Wizard Pride is my first HP fic, so I'm very honored to have it picked [as the Editor's Choice] for the month. I have started writing several more though. I just wrote a H/G fluffy smut for a LJ friend, called Birthday that I had a lot fun with. I also just finished (and hope to publish soon) and piece called When They Met, about a Arthur attending an Order meeting during the first war. It all came out on paper just the way I wanted and I smiled for the rest of the day when I was done. It just felt 'right' you know?

That's a tough one. I would probably have to go with Ron Weasley. I know he's the favorite of many out there. He's just genuinely good, but not in a MarySue sort of way. He has his flaws and silliness, but he's a good and loyal friend. Even on the first day on the Hogwarts Express he's willing to fight D/C/G with Harry and they had hardly known each other. He's just a stand up guy. Lupin is a close second. He's suffered so much and I cheered for him to finally have a love interest - he deserves it. I'm not one of those people who don't like Harry - I love him too, but I figure that goes without saying.

I think all HP fic writers should read RedBlaze/BlueRain's work. She my favorite fic author and I love her characterizations, AU or not.

I don't think I could sooner pick a favorite child [than a favorite HP book]. I could easier eliminate them.

I'd say CoS is my least favorite, it just doesn't do much for progressing the characters or the overall plot as each of the rest do. PoA and the whole backstory of the Marauders, the map, meeting Lupin and Sirius, Harry finally starts getting some attitude, the fire between R/H gets burning. Love it!

GoF is brilliant. I didn't know what to expect and I loved it all. OotP is pivotal and the whole Umbridge thing and the development of all the Weasley characters and Sirius (sob!) HBP has Harry really turning into a snotty teenager and the trio is growing up. I just love them all.
