Guys, today’s fic is a novel-length casefile that will have you riveted to the edge of your seat until the very last word. It’s got pretty much everything we love in a fic: Profiler!Mulder, first-time post-coital angst, Scully in distress, and a really awesome X-File that will keep you guessing until the last chapter. Plus, we love it when Mulder and Scully have their relationship to contend with in addition to a bad guy. They’re so damaged that way. It’s part of what makes them such a great team. Add to that a serial killer that appears to be taunting Mulder from beyond the grave by brutally murdering the loved ones of the team of people who were responsible for putting him away, and you’ve also got a Scully-in-jeopardy (and, ipso facto, a Mulder’s berserk button being pushed) situation. Suzanne Schramm proves with this fic why she’s an XF author with serious staying power. Enjoy! [1]
