Reactions and Reviews

1990

I love everything the author has ever written. I was especially pleased with what she came up with for my drawings since it is one of my favorites. A very different view of a pon farr story and exactly what Spock would have done. As always, her writing draws you right into the story and keeps you there.

I really felt for Kirk, in some ways he suffered as much as Spock. Of course, the results were worth it. [1]

2003

A not-so-excellent adventure on a galactic, storm-whipped planet, Mariah, named for the life-threatening gales that sweep it continually. Spock is called upon to save another Vulcan's life, Seldine, in the only way possible: by allowing Seldine to mate (only physically) with him. For Seldine is in pon farr and his mate has died. Kirk is present throughout. A distasteful scenario. Blessedly short, though, and Jim and Spock come to see the light on their own needs. I turned the pages fast! [2]
