Reactions and Reviews
I find that there is a gap between the Kirk who needed to go and have hot sex with a stranger and the Kirk who wanted only eternal loving tenderness with Spock. Kirk thinks that "with Spock it could never be just a quick simple lustful encounter." Never? Why doesn't that bother him? It's hard to believe that Kirk would never again want the exciting urgency of a quickie. There would be no problem if the author hadn't set up a false dichotomy between tender loving intimacy and the fast intense erotic encounter. Both can be had within the same relationship. [1]
