Power is a Blake's 7 anthology published in the US. It focuses on the female characters from the show. There are two issues.

a 1987 flyer for issue #1

From an ad in For Your Information #5: "This is a feminist oriented Blake's 7 zine putting the females of the series in the spotlight: Jenna, Calla, Servalan, etc. A must read."

From the submission request for the first issue:

In Blake's 7, Terry Nation has given us many strong female characters -- unfortunately, writers for the [aired] series have not often taken advantage of the situation, so to speak.

POWER, an all-B7 feminist 'zine, seeks to remedy that problem.

We're seeking feminist B7 submissions, in the form of stories, artwork, filks, cartoons, whatever. Lesbian stories and stories with adult situations will be considered, but only if 1) there's no explicit sex; 2) they're well-written ; and 3) they're not just cheap excuses to get the characters into bed with each other. (Note: these are guidelines, but the editor reserves the right to be completely subjective!!)

Tentative publishing date is set for Scorpio 6, so the deadline for all submissions is June 1, 1988. (Although if you have something really good but it seems too late, send it in anyway — who knows, there might be a POWER #2!!)

General Fan Comments

Some years ago there was a B7 zine called Power, which was devoted to stories about the strong women of B7 (a show which can actually support a zine with such a focus, unlike most!). As I recall, it put out two or three issues and then slipped silently below the surface, not rising again. There simply doesn't seem to be much fannish support for stories centrally about women. [1]
