Picklefic

A picklefic is a shorthand term used in gift exchanges to refer to a fanfic uploaded to fulfil a participant's assignment that technically meets the exchange's length requirement but contains only the same word repeated over and over again or otherwise completely lacks adequate substance, such as using lorem ipsum or repeating one paragraph several times.

The term was coined on yuletide_coal as a joke and "became code for 'deliberately absurd coalfic'" but has since expanded in meaning to include any fic uploaded to an exchange that uses repeated text to reach the required word count, regardless of intention. Picklefics are sometimes meant to be placeholders for a real fic that the author then fails to actually replace. Mods usually go through all the fics in their exchange checking for picklefic and outright gibberish before the works are revealed.
