[Phantoms of Shadows]: Vader has managed to repair most of his physical damage through a combination of cloning techniques and the Force, but retains the breathscreen for psychological reasons, to overawe the common run of beings and set himself apart from them. This option has been considerably limited by the sight of Vader without his helmet in TESB. [1]
