Paine/Rikku is the femslash pairing of Paine and Rikku in Final Fantasy X-2.
Canon
Rikku and Paine are both members of the Gullwings, alongside Yuna. If Paine feels her fellow Gullwings are getting overenthusiastic, she uses sarcastic cracks to jolt them to their senses, and despite Rikku's constant prying, she refuses to divulge information about herself, except for always wanting to fly on an airship and hunt for spheres containing records of Spira's past. Paine keeps a metal list of "respect points" and often tells Rikku how many she is losing when she irritates her. Despite this the two are still close friends who fight alongside each and banter throughout the game.[1]
Fandom
Paine/Rikku is a relatively rare pairing in the FFX fandom, though it is slightly more popular within femslash. Because of FFX-2 plot focusing on Yuna finding out what happened to Tidus, the two are sometimes used a side pairing for main Tidus/Yuna fanworks. Their contrasting personalities and styles is often sited as an "opposites attract" reason for shipping them.
