Paganism or elements of Paganism are often portrayed in media, and may be practiced by Pagans in fandom. The term itself is vague, but is typically used to refer to a range of polytheistic, indigenous, and new-age religious movements, with all being considered "unconventional" by Western standards.

A number of fannish new religious movements exist, including Gaykoslavie, Snapeism, Gallifreyan Tradition Society, and the broad grouping of Pop Culture Paganism.

Beyond that, many fandoms have had communities dedicated to Pagan fans. One of the factions of Forever Knight fans is the FK Pagans. Specific communities dedicated to this faction include fkpagans, a Yahoo group, and Forever Knight Pagans, a website. Star Trek fans had the mailing list Pagan Klingons.
