A post-ep is a fanfic set immediately after an episode of the source text and often addresses issues that the author felt were overlooked or brushed aside by the episode itself. The term is commonly used as "post-[episode title]".
Perhaps originally used in X-Files fandom, the term was still in wide use as of 2008 in certain fandoms, including NCIS, Smallville, and House. In many fandoms, however, it has been superseded by the synonymous term 'episode tag'.
