P.B. Chronicles is a Pierce Bronson newsletter with a focus of James Bond and Remington Steele.

It contains interviews, publicity photos, personal photos, short letters from Bronson, puzzles, ads and submission requests for fanzines, pen pal listings, professional updates, and poetry.

This newsletter was published by the official Pierce Bronson Fan Club which was run by Helen Molloy and Jane Singer, then Kim Grant.

Bronson provided personal photos on the set, as well as those of his family.

Each issue has 6-8 pages.

v.1 n.1 (March 1984, original)

Remember when you were younger, just a child really, and you would jump into bed when told to but secretly, after the lights were out, reach under your pillow for those two most important items: your latest book and the flashlight? Then quicker than a boy/girl scout you would pitch a tent with the bedclothes and sink into the depths of whatever you were presently reading. I did and maybe most of you did too. Well, in case you thought those days were over, they're not. Many of us are already on a fairly friendly basis with the world of fanzines, others may not have read them, but have heard of them and some few of you have never heard of them at all. Well, welcome to the world of fanzines. It can be a sometimes frustrating, sometimes confusing, but always delightful trip. We intend to make a regular feature of this newsletter a column dealing with fanzines. I have received a number of letters from people who will be glad to review zines that they have read. We hope that this will give everyone a good idea of what they may or may not like to read. I would very much appreciate as many reviews as possible. Also, any information that the veteran 'zine readers have that might be helpful to the newcomers and not so newcomers would be gratefully accepted as well. For those of you who don't have a clue what I am talking about, a fanzine is an amateur publication of stories written and illustrated by fellow fans. The stories and illos encompass just about every facet of TV and movies that exist and a whole lot that don't. The following are publications that list available fanzines and prices, etc:

Universal Translator, Datazine...

"A Study in Steele" — Yes, those crazy people at STFUPress are now involved in STEELE fanaticism! We would welcome your contributions to a REMINGTON STEELE zine with stories, cartoons, letters from "Harry", illustrations by Liz Hoolahan and more. Indulge your writing/artistic talents. Stories so far from Mary Millard, Sheila Willis and Teri Thorowgood. We're seeking a preponderance of genius, an antidote to boredom, a means of seein' ourselves through the lonely hours. We'll consider anything based on Pierce Brosnan's characterizations that's done with an ambience of sophistication, good taste and wit. Submit to: STFUPress, P.O. Box 8366, Silver Spring, MD 20907. Accepting deposit of $5.00 plus SASE.

Attention: New Management.

For those of you who have been with us from the beginning, you probably realize that this issue marks the end of the first year of the Pierce Brosnan Fan Club. Helen and I have enjoyed our association with all of you—and with Pierce and his family, however, we have opted not to continue on with the club for a second year. We notified Pierce about our decision a couple of months ago and he has given the matter careful thought. He wants to continue to have a fan club and keep in contact with all of you, so he has authorized another party to continue from this point forward.

Some of you may be wondering exactly how this transition will take place. Well, for those of you who joined early enough to receive the March 15, 1984 issue of "The P.B. Chronicles", your subscription is now complete. If you wish to renew your membership, send Kim Grant, the new president, a SASE so that she can send you an application form. If you still have issues remaining on your subscription, you will continue to receive them until your membership expires. The status of your membership is marked on the outside of this issue. All pertinent fan club information is being turned over to Kim, so feel free to contact her from this point forward. We would like to thank all of you who have sent in poems, articles and information for the newsletter in the past. All unused material is being forwarded on for possible inclusion in future newsletters.

Again, our thanks to all of you — and to Pierce and his family for making the Pierce Brosnan Fan Club possible, healthy and happy 1985!
