Overcoming Rivalry was a Harry Potter fanfiction archive for stories featuring minor characters. It did not accept slash except in the background of an otherwise het fic, nor did it allow non-con, incest, or "extreme kinks."
It was founded on October 10, 2004, as a Terence Higgs/Alicia Spinnet site.[1] It was reopened as a minor character archive on January 24, 2005.[2][3]
Overcoming Rivalry was hosted by Soul's Dream, which also hosted Essence of Valor, a Ginny Weasley archive, and Ostara, a post-Hogwarts RPG. The website closed on September 14, 2007, though the associated LiveJournal community remained active through 2009.
