Our Stargate Fanzine is a gen 34-page anthology containing artwork by Wilma, Leah Rosenthal & more, and short stories by Tiv’ester, Seanchaidh, Scribe, Carrie, JoaG, Madeleine Welch, Ozymandia, SG1Storyteller, Sam Walker, BabsN and more.
Summary
The Our Stargate Fanzine was conceived of, edited and pulled together by Our Stargate Forum. Member, BabsN. Babs had helped to produce a similar small fanzine the year before with the theme of “hurt/comfort” fan fiction that she and friends had raised money to publish and then handed out for free at a UK based convention (Wolfcon). Bab wanted to do the same sort of thing associated with Our Stargate and the theme of “team based” fan fiction. She asked for submissions of short stories and donations for printing. Money was raised from all over the world and, in the end, the zine was actually published globally in Europe (by Babs), in Australia, and in the US (by Ashton Press) and distributed at multiple conventions in the fall and winter of 2003. Availability
The eventual intent was to put the zine online in PDF format for (presumably free) downloading. [2]
In 2004, before that happened, Babs gave permission for Ann Wortham of Ashton Press to produce a limited print run to sell as a charity zine to raise money for the Our Stargate charities:
However, for a short time, Babs has given me permission to produce a limited print run of the fanzine in order to raise money for the Our Stargate charities (the ASPCA and MS). So, if you missed out on getting a printed copy of the zine and you would like to have one, you can still get one this way! The zine will be available at the upcoming MediaWest 24 (Memorial Day Weekend in Lansing, MI). The only cost is a donation of $2.50 or more. All monies collected over and above actual printing/processing costs will be paid to the charities. This price does not include postage.[1]
