All of today’s recs are by ariadnes_string. She’s got more H50 fic that I have read but these were my favourites. I’m still having to be careful about what H50 fic I read because I am only just halfway through the 2nd season so nothing too recent will be listed here. [...] Next up is Only Butterflies. “The only thing in Steve’s head when the perp threw him through the window of the bait and tackle store was pure fury.” As opening lines go, this one is pretty brilliant.

This is another of those fics where the characterisation of Steve and Danno is perfect. Danno’s mother henning is one of my favourite things about the show and so I love seeing him do it in fic.

Another thing I like about this story is that it is the nonlinear storytelling. Nonlinear narrative is one of my favourite literary devices and so, of course, I always like to see it well done.

I also like Steve’s relationship with both Catherine and with Danny. This is another McDanno story with a side of Cath/Steve so avoid if you don’t like boys kissing.
