once upon a time in nazi-occupied france is a Doctor Who story by yonderdarling focused on the pairing of the Doctor/Master, specifically Twelve/Missy.

Summary

"He's sitting in a cafe in Vichy France (he was aiming for 2042) and waiting for his lunch when Missy plops down in the chair opposite him." This is an idea they've had before, it's just the first time they've both been able to consider it. The Doctor and Missy try travelling together.

Reactions and Reviews

This fic stole all of my heart when I read it!! It’s Pre-S10 with so many good feelings wrapped up in a ball of some angst- Fair warning it does get smutty with the T rating, but I do highly recommend it if you are looking for a universe where they do ultimately end up communicating….[1]

Twissy, an immense, ridiculous, heart wrenching, heartwarming multichap that is astoundingly in character and just… wow[2]

i love fanfics and for my two main fandoms i have two favourites that i keep going back to and they are and everyone wins (pitch perfect, bechloe) and once upon a time in nazi occupied france (doctor who, twissy)[3]

Wonderful story. It's funny, sexy, sweet, angsty and rather unexpected at times. Definitely give it a read. Also, keep in mind that this story contains sex scenes and swearing.[4]

Everyone recs this one BUT for good reason[5]

In which the Twelfth Doctor, post Clara, meets Missy again. This is one of those stories which manages to do justice to the long history between the Doctor and the Master, and to write them specifically in these particular regenerations, not interchangable with earlier ones. It's perfect. (BTW, my favourite details is that Twelve got himself the flame throwing guitar from Mad Max, because he so would.)[6]

beautiful, utterly beautiful. even the parts that had been supposed to squeak me didn't. so. i might go back and re-read at some point eventually[7]
