Reactions and Reviews
1994
Avon/Jenna is not a combination I generally favor, but this story is warm and sexy and fun. Worth the price of admission are Avon's and Jenna's truly wicked mid-coital imitations of their unknowing fellow crewmembers. Not as sexy as "Tempo," but I liked it a lot.[1]

i skimmed this one because it was not quite good enough. basically avon and jenna and vila go on an excursion to a city, vila goes to do who knows what and avon and jenna decide they might as well shag, since they're both there, they're both hot, and they both have nothing else to do. i am not opposed to this idea necessarily as a basis for porn. i don't even require them both to be thinking 'i wish you were blake' the entire time (although that's what would be happening, right?). however, i would prefer - if we are going to do a plot where they basically shag just because in the moment they really fancy each other - that it not mean anything, except potentially awkwardness when blake asks how their trip was.on this note, there are a lot of fics in this zine where someone hasn't really thought about the idea of sex with the person they will imminently be shagging until the opportunity is presented to them. and then at the end they sort of form a unit against the rest of the crew. again, i'm not opposed to using sex as a plot device to help people realise their feelings, but that device presupposes a level of confusion previously... right? and all these fics seem to start with the sex, so we have to infer all that confusion or just assume it wasn't there.
anyway - this is just a personal preference, obviously. and if i shipped avon/jenna i dare say i wouldn't need to be convinced of their relationship.[2]
