Reactions and Reviews

...sort of nice domestic comedy, this. Can't imagine what CI5 security installers would make of all the paraphernalia — probably a long lasting and extremely annoying running joke. [1]

"On the First Day of Christmas" displayed a marvellous sense of humor. I have to adroit that I have called every dirty old broad that I know, and we all are shamed to be as naive as poor Bodie. So what the heck are those tongs that precipitated Doyle's torment at Bodie's hands? An explanation of that studded leather device is also in order. Ignorance aside, I found their conversation to be most enjoyable. I could really hear them talking and kidding with each other. It was believable, making the situation believable. Good thing Doyle had Bodle's key. I'm not sure the explanation to Cowley could have been delivered with Bodie's usual panache. [2]

On the First Day of Christmas - Established relationship. Has one of my favourite lines - "Thrusting temptation aside on the grounds that it would be asleep next to him in the morning, Bodie shut his eyes and under Doyle's incredulous gaze promptly fell asleep". This is very HG to me - says even more than you first realise you think in each sentence. [3]
